Kayla Marie Parrish, 22, of Scottville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 31, 2015 in Muskegon. Kayla was born on September 18, 1992 in Traverse City, the daughter of Bud Parrish and Tamarra Lahiff and graduated from Mason County Central High School with the class of 2011.
Kayla was a huge Detroit Lions fan, and liked to cheer on the Tigers as well. She enjoyed bike riding around Mason County, listening to her favorite tunes, dancing, and mostly spoiling her little brother. Though her life was unexpectedly shortened, her spirit will continue to live on in others as Kayla was able to donate her organs to several others through Gift of Life.
Kayla will be greatly missed by her mother Tamarra and David Parker of Scottville, her father Bud Parrish of Ludington, her sisters Amber and Brittany Parrish, her brothers Brett Parrish and Nicholas Parker, her grandparents Lynda Pyne of Traverse City, Dawn Lahiff, and Don and Donna Parker all of Scottville, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held for Kayla at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville with her pastor, Rev. Brian Blount of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at South Victory Cemetery. Friends may meet with her family for a time of visitation on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish to make contributions in Kayla’s memory are asked to consider her family to assist with expenses.
