Obituary: Millie Olsen, 99, Muskegon, formerly of Ludington.

Millie “Emily” Olsen, 99 of Muskegon, formerly of Ludington passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Tendercare of Ludington.  Emily was born on June 30, 1915 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Antoine and Frances (Kunsky) Jankowsky.  She married Ernest Delatowsky, who along with Emily worked on the car ferries out of Ludington and Muskegon.  Following Ernest’s death in 1959, Emily married Albert Olsen who served as a Captain on the car ferries, and he preceded her in death in 1986.  Emily was also preceded in death by her son Joseph Delatowsky in 2003, and her brothers Antoine and Joseph Jankowsky.

Emily worked many years on the car ferries as a cabin stewardess.  Her Lithuanian heritage gave her a strong work ethic and very generous spirit. Emily helped many individuals purchase homes and property through the years both in the Ludington and Muskegon area.

The Celebration of Mass will be held for Emily at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 20 at St. Simon’s Catholic Church in Ludington with Rev. Wayne Wheeler as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington.
