Fish on For Freedom deadline nears.

LUDINGTON – Fish on For Freedom, which will take place June 25, 2015 in Ludington is nearing its deadline for attendee applications. The non-profit organization will take applications through May 24 and then notify all participants of their acceptance into the event. The event is open for all active duty military personnel or veterans. Also there are still both volunteer and sponsorship opportunities available.

Fish on For Freedom is a charity, not for profit event, that will be held in Ludington as a token of thanks from the community to the men and women who have served in the military.

The fishing event itself will take place on the morning of June 25 with a tournament style start of fishing early that morning. Once fishing wraps up in the early afternoon, all the participating boats will gather outside the Ludington pier heads to proceed back into the harbor together. This will give community members a wonderful chance to line the Ludington harbor and welcome back the participants.

After the boats are docked, participants will be honored at a weigh in event and luncheon for all guests and volunteers of the morning’s activities. Awards will also be handed out after lunch.
