VICTORY TWP. — For the second year in a row, the Law Dogs defeated the Smoke Eaters in a charity game (8-3). But, the second annual game wasn’t really about the score anyway, it was about raising funds for our neighbors, friends and family who may find themselves in a time of need. The money raised at the event, held at the West Shore Community Ice Arena, goes towards the Mason County Fire Relief Fund, which was created to help families or individuals who are in need because of the loss of a home due to fire. Last year’s event raised $4,200. “Last year one family found itself in need of the fund’s services,” Custer Twp. Fire Lt. Justin Melchert said. “We have a surplus and are hoping to increase the fund even more this year.”
