LUDINGTON — A Few Friends for the Environment of the World (AFFEW) and Ludington Area Center for the Arts are holding an earth day celebration on Saturday April 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center, 107 S. Harrison Ludington.
A special Environmental Art Exhibit is showing through April. The day begins with nature meditation, QiGong, and an Indigenous Pipe Ceremony. Starting at 11 a.m., workshops and speakers on living greener include green burials, growing bird feeders, saving birds thru habitat, reduce, reuse, and repurpose, wind and solar energy for homes, social investing, rain barrels, composting, and organic lawn care.
Kids’ activities include a readers’ theater of “The Lorax,” flower plantings, painting birdhouses, nature art, and earth day button making. A silent auction with airplane rides, art work, landscaping, and much more will be held to raise money for programming. There will be live music and many booths of educational and green products.
