Cody L. Bowden, 26, of Ludington passed away as the result of an accident on Friday, March 27. He was born May 25, 1988 in Ludington and was a life-long resident. Cody attended Ludington High School and graduated in 2007. He was active in LHS wrestling, football, and show choir. He also attended West Shore Community College.
Cody had a love for music, guitars, and experimenting with chemistry and electricity. He started working around age 10 at the family business, the Stearns Motor Inn, doing chores every day. He would finish his list and ask if there was anything else to do. He started working as a doorman at the Tiki Lounge in the Stearns when he was only 18.
He continued working in maintenance and construction at Stearns until the time of his death. His last known contact was a call to work to check on a problem from earlier in the day that he was concerned about. Cody will be sadly missed by his friends, family, and co-workers. He had a knack for making the most routine jobs colorful.
He is survived by his parents Randy and Gail Bowden of Ludington, sisters Ariel (Jeff) Urka and Angie (Danny) Dodson, grandmothers Thelma Bowden and Delores Hakanson, his fiancée Nicole Adams, and his “little buddy” Devin. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Glen Bowden and Kenneth Hakanson.
There will be a private service for close family.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
