LUDINGTON — After what is being called a successful launch last fall, the Mason County Barn Quilt Trail committee is seeking new barns to join the trail in 2015. Interested barn owners in Mason County are invited to apply and be part of the expansion planned to launch in September of 2015 in conjunction with the Scottville Harvest Festival. The Mason County Barn Quilt Trail is an initiative lead by the Cultural Economic Development Task Force.
“We have received an overwhelming amount of excitement about the barn quilt trail since we launched last fall and are pleased to be in a position to expand this growing attraction throughout Mason County”, said Marcia Hansen, chair of the Mason County Barn Quilt Trail committee.
The Mason County Barn Quilt Trail committee will be accepting applications to join the trail now through June 1. Quilt squares will need to be completed by August 1 in order to be included in the 2015 expansion.
Applications are available at the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce, 5300 West US 10 or online. There is no cost to participate, but barn owners will be responsible for costs to produce and hang the quilt square.
