Taking stock in the arts.

LUDINGTON — Several dozen people gathered Thursday night at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts to discuss the state of the arts in the community. The stakeholders meeting included artists, community leaders, teachers and others who have an interest in the arts community.

Small groups answered questions about the art center and the local arts: “What are we doing well to support the need of arts stakeholders? What are areas of need or concern for supporting arts stakeholders? What should a directory of arts stakeholders look like? How should stakeholders communicate in the future?”

“We want to start a conversation between people with similar interests and interests in supporting the arts,” said LACA board member Dave Preston.
