AMBER TWP. — Great Lakes Ford has become one of the first dealerships in the country to have a newly re-designed F-150 pickup in stock. The model was released for sale last week. One of the major changes is the aluminum body, making the truck 800 pounds lighter than the previous model, which has been the top selling pickup truck for 37 years.
“We are pretty excited to be one of the first dealerships to have one of the trucks,” owner Chris Zeependfeld said. “In the time we have had it, we’ve had over 30 test drives already.”
He estimates the dealership’s F-150 truck sales will increase 25%, based on web inquiries and industry analysis.
“There’s been a lot of interest in this truck,” he said. “It’s lighter size means better towing capability and, probably most important, better gas mileage.”
Great Lakes Ford is located at 3045 W. U.S. 10-31 between Scottville and Ludington.
