Slippery road conditions Thursday morning resulted in two separate crashes in the county just moments apart.
At 7:44 a.m., two vehicles collided head-on on Rasmussen Road between Jebavy Dr. and Meyers Rd. in Pere Marquette Township. A 17-year-old Ludington woman lost control of her vehicle and slid left of the centerline and struck a vehicle being driven by a 47-year-old Fountain man. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Pere Marquette Twp. Fire Dept. and Life EMS ambulance responded.
At 7:48 a.m., a 68-year-old Pentwater woman was involved in a single vehicle crash on Scottville Rd. near Meisenheimer Rd. The woman was transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released. MCSO, Riverton Twp. Fire Dept. and Life EMS responded.
Other activity of the sheriff’s office for Thursday, Oct. 13, 2014 included:
- 9:47 a.m.: Single vehicle crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Campbell Rd., Branch Twp. Vehicle struck a sign. At the same location, another vehicle ran off road and into ditch to avoid the above crash.
- 5:22 p.m.: Gas drive off of $26.03, Airport Shell, 5400 block of West U.S. 10, P.M. Two.
- 6 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Sugar Grove and Morse roads, Sheridan Twp.
