LUDINGTON — Susan Sniegowski said she is humbled and honored at winning the seat of 51st Circuit Court judge Tuesday. Sniegowski will become the first female judge in both Mason and Lake counties.

The Ludington attorney defeated Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Spaniola 6,298 to 5,554; winning in both counties.

“I’m very humbled and honored by the results of the election,” she said about midnight during a small celebration gathering at Chuck Wagon Pizza. Sniegowski said she was thankful to the voters who supported her and she is looking forward to serving as judge.

In Mason County, Sniegowski won  by 53%, 4,819-4,249.

Sniegowski will take the bench on Jan. 1, 2015, replacing retiring Judge Richard Cooper, who has held the seat since 1979.
