WSCC bookstore to help Toys for Tots

October 25, 2014

VICTORY TWP. — The West Shore Community College Bookstore is teaming up with the Mason County Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program to help unlock the imagination of children by accepting new children’s books that will be distributed in December as holiday gifts for children in need.

The “Toys for Tots” program helps less fortunate children experience the joy of the holidays and plays an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children. The program also unites members of our local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a not-for-profit public charity, is the fund-raising and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” program. The Foundation was created at the behest of the U.S. Marine Corps and has supported “Toys for Tots” since 1991.

Until October 31, the WSCC Bookstore will be accepting new children’s book donations for the age group of preschool through 14 years. The donation bin is located in the bookstore, located in the Schoenherr Campus Center.

With every donated book, a donor will receive 20% off any mass market title of your choice, excluding textbooks.

For additional information, contact the WSCC Bookstore at 231-843-5506 or via email at bookstore@westshore.edu.
