2014 Pentwater Citizen of the Year

PENTWATER — Dr. Dave Roseman is the Pentwater Citizen of the Year, and in honor of his accomplishment a dinner is set for Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Pentwater Yacht Club.

Tickets are available at the Pentwater Village Hall and through the Pentwater Service Club.

Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Menu choices are prime rib and chicken piccata, and the cost is $24 per person.

A retired surgeon, Roseman has an incredibly long list of achievements that have greatly benefitted the Pentwater community over the years. He is a former PYC Commodore and an active board member for the Community Foundation of Oceana County. He has tackled many local issues including dredging the Pentwater Channel and fighting the wind turbine development that was proposed in Oceana County. He has also fought for extending the William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail to Pentwater. The brilliant scientist developed computer technology that is used in the medical field today. A strong advocate of 3D printing, he has introduced the fascinating technology to Pentwater Public Schools and the Pentwater Artisan Center.

Originally from Champaign, Ill., the honoree obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois and ran his practice in Illinois until retiring in 1996. He and his late wife Joan moved to Pentwater after his retirement. Both avid sailors, the couple discovered Pentwater on a sailing expedition in 1973.
