The 51st Circuit Court Judge race will come down to the current Mason County prosecutor and the former Mason County prosecutor. Paul Spaniola and Susan Sniegowski will face off in the November general election.

With all of Mason County’s 25 precincts reporting and 16 out of 19 of Lake County precincts reporting, Mason County Press has projected that Spaniola and Sniegowski are the winners.

Votes for the two were close, 1,992 for Spaniola and 1,921 for Sniegowski (again, with three Lake County precincts not yet accounted for). Lake County Prosecutor Craig Cooper received 1,547 votes while attorney David Glancy received 933 votes.

“I’m very excited about the November election,” Spaniola said. “I think we did very well and I am very excited about the opportunity. I also believe that the other three candidates ran good campaigns.”

Sniegowski echoed the sentiment.

“I feel good about the results tonight,” she said. “I am looking forward to November.  I would like to congratulate Craig Cooper and David Glancy on a race well run.”
