First day of the fair

PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — The 2014 Western Michigan Fair got underway Tuesday with crowds of people packing the Mason County Fairgrounds Tuesday night. The day was dollar day with the first 500 kids arriving at 5 p.m. each receiving a $1 bill from West Shore Bank. The day included various 4-H judging and also the evening’s Demo Scramble and Figure 8 Racing.
