Helen M. Tyndall aged 90 of Ludington passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Ludington Woods Living Center. Helen was born on December 8, 1923 in Carr Settlement, the daughter of Perry and Ida (Miller) Tyndall, and graduated from Custer High School in 1942. She furthered her education at County Normal School and began teaching at Malboro and Lake Schools until 1947 when she attended Central Michigan Teachers College in Mt. Pleasant and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1949. Helen put all of her energy into teaching for 33 years, the last 24 years for Ludington Public Schools. She absolutely loved children. In 1978, due to health reasons, she moved to Tucson, AZ and worked part-time for Child Protective Services, and volunteered at Craigen School. She continued to spend her summers in Michigan, and moved back to Michigan for good in 2002.
Helen was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, and attended Grace and Truth Chapel in Baldwin. Her faith in God and the Lord Jesus Christ were strong. Now she awaits the “shout of command and the trumpet of God” when the dead in Christ shall rise.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by her brother Cecil Tyndall and her sister Gladys Atwood, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held for Helen at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 24 at the Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville. Burial will take place at McCumber Cemetery in Carr Settlement.
