Water service restored

July 10, 2014

LUDINGTON — City employees have repaired the 20-inch water main damaged earlier today by a utility contractor. The water main at the intersection of Robert and Filer streets was damaged and caused loss of water services for portions of the city.

There is still damage to the roadway and part of South Robert St., just north of West Filer St. is closed to traffic until further notice.

City Manager John Shay said that water may be cloudy for a temporary period of time but is safe to drink and use.

“The city would like to thank those city employees who worked non-stop to repair this water main, especially the employees from Utility Maintenance Department led by Superintendent Darryll Plamondon,” Shay said. “The city sincerely appreciates the community’s patience during the repair of this water main.”
