GR man arrested owing over $60,000 in child support

AMBER TWP. — A 40-year-old Grand Rapids man was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Mason County sheriff deputies on two outstanding warrants, including one felony child neglect from the Michigan Attorney General’s office and a civil child support warrant out of Kent County. Bond for the AG complaint is $60,000 while the Kent County complaint was $15,155 and $60,319 owed in child support. The arrest took place in the 500 block of West Hansen Road.

Other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office for July 9, 2014 included:

– Noon: Two vehicle sideswipe crash, no injuries, Meisenheimer Rd. and Pere Marquette Hwy., Summit Twp.

– 1:14 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Schoenherr Rd., Custer Twp.

– 5:29 p.m.: Larceny from a building, 1600 block of South Walhalla Rd., Branch Twp.

– 7:26 p.m.: Larceny from a vehicle, 3900 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp.

– 8:23 p.m.: Larceny of two kayaks from a yard in the 4500 block of East U.S. 10, Custer Twp. Kayaks are yellow Old Town Loons brand.
