Richard Skrodenis, Age 73 of Scottville died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on July 10, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late John and Ann (Polacek) Strodenis. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He married Donna Elaine Toms on June 18, 1966 in Roselle, Illinois.
Richard was employed as an inspector at Howmet Turbine Componets in Whitehall for over 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, and watching the Food Network.
He is survived by his wife; Elaine Skrodenis of Scottville, two sons; Richard G. (Emily) Skrodenis of Ionia, MI and Roberst S. (Molly) Skrodenis of Louisville, KY, three grandchildren; Caitlin, Parker, & Liam, as well as nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one brother; Robert J. Vodvarka and by one sister; Charlene Dominiak.
Funeral Services for Richard Skrodenis will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ludington with Pastor Wayne Buskirk officiating. Military Services will be conducted by the Honor Guard from the American Legion Post #96 in Ludington.
The family will receive friends at the Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Ludington today (Monday) from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and at the church Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until time of Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to the Hospice of the donor’s choice.
