Fairgrounds dedication ceremony

PERE MARQUETTE TWP. — The Mason County Board of Commissioners and the Western Michigan Fair Association Board are inviting the citizens of Mason County to a dedication ceremony for the new improvements at the Mason County Fairgrounds.  The ceremony is scheduled at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 5302 W. US 10, Ludington.

Mason County received funding of $320,000, for the Mason County Fairgrounds Improvements through a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Development Project Grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, $20,000 from a Department of Agriculture grant, and over a quarter of a million dollars in donations from anonymous donors. The project included a new nature trail with interpretive signage, road improvements, fencing, lighting, landscaping, and site work.

Mason County has partnered with Western Michigan Fair Association Board for many years to provide the fairgrounds site.

The general public is invited to tour the fairgrounds after the dedication ceremony until 6 p.m.
