Emma Martin running for Miss Michigan

MUSKEGON — Ludington’s Emma Martin is among 34 young women vying for the title of “Miss Michigan” this weekend at the Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts.

Martin, 21, is competing as Miss Ludington Area. She has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, with a minor in Spanish, from Grand Valley State University. She plans to receive a master’s degree in social work and pursue a career as a counselor in a pediatric unit.

Martin’s platform is “Caring for the Fatherless: Bringing Awareness to Orphans.”  Her talent is a jazz dance routine to “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” from “Moulin Rouge.”
