Circuit court sentencings include embezzlement, sex offender, drug violations

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced Tuesday in 51st Circuit Court:

Donna Brown

– Donna Lee Brown, 61, of 4152 Washington Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty April 23 of embezzlement agent, over $20,000. She was sentenced to 270 days in jail with credit for one day served; serve four months up front, followed by 60 days on electronic monitoring at her expense; five years probation; $47,807.15 in restitution; and $698 in fines and costs.

Jeremy Franklin

– Jeremy Michael Franklin, 28, of 307 Rowe St., Ludington, Apt. 4, was found guilty April 22 of sex offender, failure to comply. He was sentenced to 98 days in jail with credit for 93 days served; time served or when employment/housing becomes available; two years probation; and $498 in fines and costs.

Larry Cress

– Larry Cress, 51, of 8946 E US-10, Branch, was found guilty April 23 of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture 5-45 kilograms, second offense. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for 82 days served; serve four months up front; balance to be served at the court’s discretion; driver’s license suspended 60 days/restricted 305 days; $1,115 in restitution; and $648 in fines and costs.

Jones

– Joseph Ramon Jones, 36, of 2525 Manz St., Muskegon Heights, was found guilty March 7 of controlled substance, delivery/manufacture. He was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for two days served; 18 months probation; driver’s license suspended 60 days/restricted 305 days; and $548 in fines and costs. One count of controlled, substance, delivery/manufacture, second offense, was dismissed.
