79th District Court arraignments

LUDINGTON — The following were arraigned this past week in front of the 79th District Court Magistrate:

Felonies

Handshoe

– William Joseph Handshoe, 20, no address listed, was arrested June 6 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on four felony counts of criminal sexual conduct, first degree (under 13). A preliminary exam is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $75,000/cash/surety.

Cress

– Thomas David Cress, 36, of 39 Harris St., Battle Creek, was arrested June 10 by the Michigan State Police, Hart post (MSP-H) on felony counts of first-degree home invasion, second-degree home invasion and felony firearm. A preliminary exam is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $25,000/personal.

Phelps

– Scott Eric Phelps, 42, no address listed, was arrested Oct. 27, 2013 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) on felony counts of breaking and entering a building, larceny of a building and habitual offender, fourth conviction. A. preliminary exam is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000/10 percent

Behman

– Randall Scott Behan, 53,of 1814 N. US-31, was arrested June 5 by MSP-H for a felony of interfering with an electronic communication device and domestic violence. A preliminary exam is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

Brooks

– Elrico James Brooks, 34, no address listed, was arrested June 4 by LPD for felony of interfering with an electronic communication device and habitual offender, fourth offense. A preliminary exam is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $7,500/10 percent.

Misdemeanors

– Russell William Hastings, 23, of 13040 ½ Old Riley Rd., Ludington, was arrested June 3 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. A pretrial is set for June 16 at 10:30 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

– David Lee Kapala, 23, of 6206 N. Stiles Rd., Ludington, was arrested June 5 by LPD for misdemeanors of alcohol – selling/furnishing and allowing alcohol/minors on premises. A pretrial is set for June 23 at 3 p.m. Bail: $1,000/personal.

– Cheryl Beth Tyler, 48, of 1087 Pineway, Ludington, was arrested June 5 by LPD for misdemeanors of alcohol – selling/furnishing and allowing alcohol/minors on premises. A pretrial is set for June 16 at 2 p.m. Bail: $1,000/personal.

– Joshua Steven Davis, 17, of 91 N. Alpine Dr., Walhalla, was arrested June 5 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of third-degree retail fraud. A pretrial is set for June 16 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Nedra Mae Besson, 74, of 301 E. Court St., Apt. 201, Ludington, was arrested June 5 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of third-degree retail fraud. A pretrial is set for June 30 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Renee Pauline Lucas, 35, of 7103 N. Darr Rd., Free Soil, was arrested June 4 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of second-degree retail fraud. A pretrial is set for June 23 at 2:30 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

– Jennifer June Bowman, 31, of 502 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was arrested May 31 by LPD for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. A pretrial is set for June 16 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Samuel Lee Benson, 17, of 7819 E. Chickasaw Trail, Branch, was arrested June 4 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of malicious destruction of personal property. A pretrial is set for June 23 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Robin Rae Bakies, 51, of 302 N. Robert St., Ludington, was arrested June 4 by LPD for a misdemeanor of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. A pretrial is set for June 18 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety.

– Paul Henry Probst, 18, of 1630 H. Hartwell Dr., Ludington, was arrested May 28 by MSP-H for a misdemeanor of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. A pretrial is set for June 30 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Whitney Leigh Peterson, 19, of 1008 N. Brookridge Rd., Ludington, was arrested May 20 by LPD for a misdemeanor of alcohol – use of a fraudulent ID and minor in possession of alcohol. A pretrial is set for June 23 at 2:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/personal.

– Gabriel Lance Florez, 37, of 4058 Briarwood Lane, Muskegon, was arrested May 23 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of driving while license suspended. A pretrial is set for July 7 at 10:15 a.m. Bail: $1,000/personal.

– Jeremy Dean Daily, 20, of 214 White Pine, Ludington, was arrested June 7 by MSP-H for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. A pretrial is set for July 7 at 1:30 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

– Jonathan Kent Houk, 43, of 4585 S. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington, was arrested June 8 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of operating while intoxicated. A pretrial is set for June 30 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $5,000/10 percent.
