LUDINGTON — West Shore Community College, along with SCORE and the Ludington & Scottville Area Chamber of Commerce will host an entrepreneurial speaking event next Monday. Jake Joraanstad is the 24 year old co-founder of a successful smart-phone app development company headquartered in Fargo, ND. Start-Up Community Pillars will be held at Jamesport Brewing Company’s Red’s Room at 410 S. James on June 12 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Jake Joraanstad and his company are considering it their personal responsibility to make the Fargo-Moorhead area a great community and Jake will be sharing how it can happen locally. They aim to support the community they love, not only through the success of their business, but with the utilization of the unique talents possessed by each member of their team.
Jake and his team have been vital in the development of Fargo’s startup community. “As a technology solutions provider, we are here to support the community in any way we can,” Jake explained. “We do a lot of work outside of the state – all over the country, really – but my co-founder Ryan and I are huge supporters of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are the ones who make the future city.”
During the event Jake will discuss how his company and the Fargo entrepreneur community have helped change the way start-ups work. He will demonstrate how to be a leader and a feeder for start-ups within a community. He will also discuss how to encourage and support side projects of employees.
