Susan Grace Rader, age 69 of Ludington went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 11, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Carl and Mildred (Zimmerman) Moberg. Sue attended Mason County Central Schools in Scottville graduating with the class of 1963. She married Daniel R. Rader on September 26, 1964 in Ludington at the Victory Trinity Lutheran Church. Sue was a homemaker and also a bank teller at First of America Bank in Ludington. She was a member of New Hope God’s House of Prayer in Sheridan Township.
Sue enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, hiking, crafts, antiquing and missionary work. Together Sue and her husband Dan raised 6 children along with many foster children. She was a Sundayschool teacher for many years at Victory Trinity Lutheran Church and later at New Hope God’s House of Prayer. Sue was an ordained Pastor through Faith Alive Bible Training Center and she was involved in missionary work and made numerous trips to Jamaica, Africa and St. Vincent.
Sue is survived by her husband Daniel R. Rader; sons, Barry (Bridget) Rader, Timothy (Stefanie) Rader, Richard (Stacy) Rader, Jonathon (Maria) Rader, Ron (Terry) Newcomb; daughter, Becky (Thomas) Johnson; grandchildren, Jacob Rader, Nick Rader, Kaitlin Rader, Esperanza Rader, Alba Rader, Kristi Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Kylee Johnson, Christopher Newcomb, Matthew Newcomb, Danielle Hendrickson and several great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Lague; uncle Art Moberg; Aunt Grace Kiddie; mother-in-law, Willadean (Billie) Rader; brother-in-law, Buster (Mally) Rader; sister-in-law, Verna Rader and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Richard R. Rader; brother-in-law, Ronald R. Rader and nephew, Ronson R. Rader.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Sue will be held on Monday June 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with Pastor Peter Smith officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
