HAMLIN TWP. — A 42-year-old Manistee woman was injured Monday afternoon when the vehicle she was driving hit a tree. The crash occurred on Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road about 2:30 p.m. According to Mason County sheriff’s deputies on the scene, the woman had apparently suffered from low blood sugar. She was driving a Chrysler Sebring north and went off the road, striking a ditch which caused the vehicle to go airborne, according to Hamlin Township Fire Chief Steve Vandervest. The vehicle came to a rest about 75 feet from where it left the road.
She was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS ambulance for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Ludington Fire Department’s rescue unit also responded to the scene.
