Walter Frankie Allen “Frank” Powers of Free Soil passed away at home with his family on May 20, 2014 at the age of 42 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was born in Ludington on February 11, 1972, and graduated from Free Soil High School in 1990. He went on to become an excellent carpenter and later worked at PCA.
Frank was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children. His family and friends will truly miss his quick wit and sarcasm. He was the very devoted and loving father of Aaron and Brittany Powers, Mickayla Powers, and Nathaniel Powers and will be greatly missed by his children. He was preceded in death by his Grandmother Althea Beyers, and his Step Father Leonard Ward.
Along with his children, Frank will be lovingly remembered by his mother Karen C. Ward of Manistee, his brother Lee Sheafor, his aunts Vicki (Larry) Antoine of Battle Creek, and Sandra Kane of Coral, MI, and special family and friends Ronald and Thelma Chappel, and Ronald and Tracy Chappel all of Freesoil.
A celebration of life will be held at the Freesoil Community Center, 8480 N Democrat St, Free Soil, on May 26th from 2pm until 5pm. Prayers will be offered from Pastor Gene McClellan at the celebration of life.
