Deputies kept busy over weekend

Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office were kept busy over the weekend. Much of their time was spent working on the damage caused by Saturday night’s storm in southwestern Mason County. They also made several arrests. Here’s the activity report of the MCSO from April 11 to April 13, 2014:

April 11, 2014.

• 3:19 a.m.: Disturbance/warrant arrest, 500 block of South Main St., City of Scottville;  31 year-old Scottville man was arrested on outstanding warrant by MCSO on two outstanding friend of the court warrants out of Kent County
• 6:31 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Countyline and Morton roads, Grant Twp.
• 6:50 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Reek Rd., Custer Twp.
• 7:53 a.m.: Single vehicle crash, no injuries, northbound U.S. 31 north of Oceana Drive, Summit Twp. Vehicle caught on fire in transit.
• 9:50 a.m.: Larceny of ice shanty and fishing equipment, 11000 block of North U.S. 31, Grant Twp.
• 10:13 a.m.: Breaking and entering, 2600 block of North Sherman Rd., Hamlin Twp.
• 11:46 a.m.: Illegal dumping, 2400 block of North Benson Rd., Sheridan Twp.
• 12:08 p.m.: Illegal dumping, 7900 block of East Stolberg, Sheridan Twp.
• 3:32 p.m.: Aggravated domestic assault, 1000 block of Lancer Lane, Pere Marquette Twp., warrant being requested.
• 7:53 p.m.: A 36-year-old Muskegon man was arrested by deputies following a traffic stop at U.S. 31 expressway and Chauvez Rd., P.M. Twp. He was charged with a probation violation from Muskegon County.
• 9:32 p.m.: Assist to Scottville Police Dept., 500 block of South Main St., City of Scottville.

April 12, 2014.

• 11:15 p.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, minor injuries, U.S. 10 and Brye Rd., Amber Twp. A 23-year-old Hamilton, Mich. woman failed to stop for a flashing yellow light while northbound on Brye Rd. and struck an eastbound U.S. 10 vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Free Soil man. The 42-year-old man and his 22-year-old passenger, from Free Soil, received minor injuries.
• 12:38 a.m.: A 32-year-old Fountain man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and open intoxicants following a traffic stop in the 700 block of South Main St., Custer Twp.
• 8:10 p.m.: Deputies responded to numerous calls for down trees and wires in Summit and Riverton townships.
• 9:53 p.m.: Damaged property, 4800 block of North Benson Rd., Sheridan Twp.
• 11:15 p.m.: A 23-year-old Hamilton, Mich. woman was arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of drugs following a traffic crash at U.S. 10 and Brye Rd., Amber Twp.

April 13, 2014.

• 6:43 p.m.: A 40-year-old Pentwater man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana following a traffic stop at Scottville and Beard roads, Riverton Twp.
• 7:59 p.m.: A 30-year-old Walkerville man was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, third offense, following a traffic stop at Sixth St. and P.M. Hwy., P.M. Twp.
