SCOTTVILLE — A newly formed non-profit group is interested in holding some events in Scottville this summer. Mason County Family Events received permission from city commissioners tonight to hold two events downtown this summer.
The first event will be July 21 – 26 and will consist of crafts and baked goods judging, animal showmanship, pie baking contest, barn dance, youth animal auction, pig roast and various other activities throughout the week all under a tent that would be set up in the west parking lot. The group is also planning a mule pull in the area behind Holden’s Home Emporium on South Main Street.
The second event, Mason County Art Show will be in late August. The group will be asking artists to enter their art piece to be judged and they will be set up in businesses as well as outside on the sidewalk and in the mall area. Also with this event will be a community auction on Aug. 23 which will be similar to the youth auction in July for animals, produce, fresh eggs, etc.
