LUDINGTON — A benefit pig roast and silent auction will be held Tuesday at PM Steamers Restaurant to benefit 9-year-old Hunter Bowman. Hunter is a third grader at Foster Elementary and was diagnosed in early January with with stage three papillary thyroid carcinoma.

He is being treated at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.  His treatment has made it impossible for him to continue school this year.

Hunter is the middle child of five siblings. He has both an older and younger brother and sister.

Treatment is intensive and Hunter is required to be isolated for long periods of time.  Making things more difficult, his mother, Miranda, is unable to work due to the rigorous schedule of his treatment.

The benefit will be held from 5 to 8  p.m.  All proceeds from the sale of food and auction items will go directly to the Bowman family to help pay expenses for travel, bills, and living expenses for the large family.

Hunter’s grandparents, Bob and Elaine Parker, of Ludington, have also put together some great musical talent for the event featuring The Hard Promises, The Road Less Traveled, The Buss Boys, and Emma Taranko & Mallory Shinn.

PM Steamers is located at 502 W. Ludington Ave.,  www.pmsteamers.com
