Julian Pleiness age 86 of Custer, Mi died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Julian was born on February 16, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Peter and Frances (Kobosh) Kriscunas. She married Harlan E. Pleiness on November 22, 1952 in Riverton, MI. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville, lifetime member of the Michigan State Garden Club and 50+ member of the Mason County Garden Club. Was a showman/arranger in the Horticulture at the Western MI Fair for many years. A 4-H leader and member of the Bells and Beaux Square dance club. She loved and had a passion for painting Arabian Horses.
Julian is survived by her Husband of 61 years: Harlan E. Pleiness of Custer, 2 Sons: Barry (Kathy) Pleiness of Scottville, MI & Dale (Julie) Pleiness of Scottville, MI. 1 Daughter: Sheri (Walter) Reed of Custer. 7 Grandchildren: Chad (Annika) Pleiness, Misty Pleiness, Erica (Rob) Smith III, Brian Pleiness, Julie Berndt, Gary Berndt and Peter Berndt. 2 Great Grandchildren: Isabella and Jenson Smith. 1 Sister: Cris Morse of Fountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Julian was preceded in death by parents and brother in-law: Frank Morse.
Funeral services for Julian Pleiness will be conducted on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Scottville with Pastor James Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Center Riverton Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family for a time of visitation on Monday, March 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Stephens Funeral Home in Scottville, as well as at the church 1 hour prior to services.
