79th District Court arraignments, as of Feb. 26, 2014

LUDINGTON — The following were arraigned this past week in front of Mason County Magistrate Patricia Baker in 79th District Court:

Felonies

Gabriel Austin

–         Gabriel Isaiah Austin, 40, of 510 N. Emily St., Apt. K, Ludington, was arrested Feb. 23 by the Ludington Police Department (LPD) for a felony of assault by strangulation and domestic violence. A preliminary preconference is set for today (Feb. 28) at 1 p.m., and a preliminary exam is set for March 5 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

Carl Herring

–         Carl Lee Herring, 23, no address listed, was arrested Feb. 20 by LPD on three felony counts of resisting and opposing and possession of marijuana and controlled substance – possess of narcotics, under 25 grams. A preconference is set for today at 1 p.m. and a preliminary exam is set for March 5 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

Michael Maybanks

–         Michael Charles Maybanks, 32, of 2135 Continental St., Muskegon, was arrested Feb. 25 by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on felony charges of first-degree retail fraud, conducting criminal enterprises, conspiracy to commit retail fraud and habitual offender, fourth conviction. A preliminary exam is set for March 5 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $10,000/personal.

Joseph Card

–         Joseph Sidney Card, 62, of 3558 E. Fountain Rd., Fountain, was arrested Feb. 19 by the Michigan State Police (MSP) for a felony of interfering with an electronic communication device and habitual offender, second offense. A preconference was set for Feb. 21, and a preliminary exam was set for Feb. 26. Bail: $3,500/personal recognizance.

Misdemeanors

–         Maximo Chapa Jr., 23, of 6242 N. Lincoln Rd., Ludington, was arrested Feb. 20 by LPD for a misdemeanor of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. A pretrial is set for March 17 at 10 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal recognizance.

–         Troy Douglas Henney, 29, of 7911 E. Navajo Trail, Branch, was arrested Feb. 21 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of improper transport of medical marijuana and open container. A pretrial is set for March 17 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $5,000/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

–         Nicholas Ray Collins, 30, of 7871 Mielke Rd., Freeland, was arrested Feb. 16 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of operating while impaired. A pretrial conference is set for March 17 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

–         John Frederick Gleck, 59, of 451 Fourth St., Manistee, was arrested Feb. 19 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana. A pretrial conference is set for March 17 at 11 a.m. Bail: $2,500/personal recognizance.

–         Georgia Rae Makowicki, 53, of 105 4^th St., Apt. 1, Ludington, was arrested Feb. 18 by LPD for a misdemeanor of malicious destruction of personal property. A pretrial conference is set for March 3 at 10:45 a.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

–         Jodie Marie Phillips, 40, of 301 E. Court St., #615, Ludington, was arrested Feb. 20 by LPD for misdemeanors of high blood alcohol content and operating while intoxicated. A pretrial conference is set for March 17 at 2:15 p.m. Bail: $2,500/cash/surety/10 percent cash.

–         Jesse Lawrence Miler, 19, of 2615 Bentoski Rd., Manistee, was arrested Feb. 23 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL), underage blood alcohol content .02-.07. A pretrial is set for March 24 at 11 a.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.

–         Spencer William Johnson, 20, of 6545 W. Dewey Rd., Ludington, was arrested Feb. 23 by MCSO for a misdemeanor of controlled substance, possession of marijuana. A pretrial is set for March 17 at 11:30 a.m. Bail: $3,500/10 percent.

–         Melissa Elaine Brower, 106 Gay St., Scottville, was arrested Feb. 24 by LPD for a misdemeanor of domestic violence. A pretrial is set for March 10 at 1:45 p.m. Bail: $2,500/10 percent.
