Note from the Editor:
Day 4 of the murder trial of Trooper Paul Butterfield begins this morning. Covering a trial of this magnitude takes a lot of time and effort — and money. In order to provide you with quality coverage I have taken on the services of Lisa Enos, who helps us out from time to time. Lisa has been in the courtroom every day of testimony and she has been taking most of the notes.
MCP is a free service because of the great support of our advertisers. Pam Prior, our Sales and Marketing Manager works very hard to have a great relationship with local businesses and to sell our advertising. While we are able to pay for some freelance reporting, our budget doesn’t really account for the many hours that a trial like this takes.
We are asking you, our readers, to consider helping us out. Many of you have already responded and that’s great. On the right side of the website is our advertising column. Located within that column is a a PayPal contribution box. Please consider clicking on this. Even $10 would help. If you don’t do PayPal, you are welcome to send a check to MCP, 405 N. Main St., Scottville, MI 49454.
We would also like to thank the local businesses that are specifically sponsoring the trial: FloraCraft of Ludington, www.floracraft.com is our major sponsor. We have also received sponsorship from Dollars & Sense – Tax & Accounting Services LLC, 101 S. James St., Ludington. 231-845-7292. We appreciate their contribution to helping us provide coverage to you.
