LUDINGTON — Sandcastles Children’s Museum announced a new capital campaign tonight during its fundraising ball. The $250,000 Vision 20/20, Through the Eyes of a Child campaign will raise funds for exterior and interior improvements, Kristin Korendyke, executive director said.
One of the highlight additions will be a wave room. There will also be improvements made to the upstairs ballroom and to the exterior of the building.
The museum was founded eight years ago. In that time attendance has increased from 1,500 the first year to 22,000 in 2013.
Saturday’s masquerade ball was a kickoff to the campaign. It was held at AM Galleries in downtown Ludington. Major sponsors included West Shore Bank, FloraCraft, Metalworks and Western Land Services.
