2 injured in Thursday crash

hansen_road_crash_013114CUSTER TWP. — Two people were injured following a head-on crash Thursday morning on Hansen Road. The crash occurred when a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old fountain man crossed into the path of a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old Custer man, according to a report from the Mason County Sheriff’s Office. The Custer man and his 63-year-old female passenger were both injured. The woman was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital by Life EMS ambulance. The crash occurred between Bean and Tuttle roads, in an area that was affected by extreme white-out conditions caused by drifting snow.

In addition to sheriff’s deputies and the ambulance, Scottville Fire Dept. and Custer Fire Dept. also responded.

– 3:30 a.m.: A 19-year-old Ludington man was arrested for driving while license suspended, first offense, following a traffic stop at Chauvez Rd. and Pere Marquette Hwy. in Pere Marquette Twp.
