Scottville cancels Blizzard Blast

SCOTTVILLE — The irony has been pointed out that the Scottville Blizzard Blast, originally scheduled for last weekend, was canceled due to a blizzard. Even the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids shared MCP’s Facebook status about the postponement, pointing out that weather was so bad that even the Blizzard Blast was canceled. Organizers initially planned to reschedule the event — which was going to mainly take place at the Scottville Optimist Center — but scheduling conflicts are just getting in the way.

Heather DeVries, Scottville Main Street manager, said instead the committee is looking at some sort of spring festival (if there is a spring).
