Multiple weather-related crashes over weekend

Deputies from Mason County Sheriff’s Office, along with personnel from county fire departments and Life EMS ambulance, responded on several weather-related traffic crashes since Friday. The most notable was a six vehicle crash on East Free Soil Raod near Darr Road in Free Soil Township Friday afternoon.

Deputies were called to the scene at 11:51 a.m. It involved five personal vehicles and a semi truck and trailer. The semi truck driver jack-knifed the truck in an attempt to avoid an accident that had already occurred, according to a report from the sheriff’s office. Two of the vehicles left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. No one was injured. Personnel from Free Soil/Meade and Grant fire departments were called to assist with traffic during the near white out conditions.

Jan. 24

– 11:14 a.m.: One vehicle crash, no injuries, Lakeshore Dr. and Indiana St., Hamlin Twp.

– 12:04 p.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 east of Pere Marquette Hwy., Pere Marquette Twp.

– 1:10 p.m.: Vehicle vs. pole, no injuries, Meisenheimer Rd., west of PM Hwy., Summit Twp.

– 1:50 p.m.: One vehicle rollover crash, no injuries, Campbell Rd., north of Sugar Grove Rd., Sheridan Twp.

– 3:07 p.m.: Susicious situation, 3000 block of West Hansen Rd., Amber Twp.

– 3:21 p.m.: One vehicle crash, no injuries, Millerton and Benson roads, Sheridan Twp.

– 4:46 p.m.: Retail fraud, 3900 block of West U.S. 10, Amber Twp.. Juvenile being referred to juvenile court.

– 7:27 p.m.: Two vehicle slide off, no damage/injuries, Chauvez Rd. east of PM Hwy., PM Twp.

– 8:32 p.m.: Alarm activation, East Young Rd., Branch Twp.

– 9:53 p.m.: Assist to Scottville Police Dept., 300 block of South Main St., City of Scottville.

– 9:56 p.m.: One vehicle crash, no injuries, northbound U.S. 31 expressway at the eastbound U.S. 10 off ramp, Amber Twp.

– 10:20 p.m.: Alarm activation, 200 block of South Main St., City of Scottville.

Jan. 25

– 4:54 a.m.: Slide off, 3000 W. Hansen Rd., Amber Twp.

– 12:51 p.m.: Alarm activation, 5100 block of Progressive Dr., PM Twp.

– 1:17 p.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Benson Rd., Branch Twp.

– 8:15 p.m.: Stuck vehicle, Meisenheimer and Morton roads, Riverton Twp.

– 11:37 p.m.: 45-year-old Manistee man arrested on an outstanding warrant from Mason County Friend of the Court.

Jan. 26

– 12:40 p.m.: Three vehicle crash, U.S. 10 near Quarterline Rd., Amber Twp., 46-year-old Manistee woman received minor injuries in the crash. Scottville Fire Dept., Custer Fire Dept. and Life EMS ambulance also responded.

– 6:11 p.m.: Two vehicle broadside crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 east of PM Hwy., PM Twp.
