Sheriff asking motorists to stay off roads

Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole is asking drivers to stay off the roads except for emergencies. Cole said the Mason County Road Commission is pulling its trucks off all secondary roads and will only be maintaining state highways and primary roads.

Drifting and blowing snow is causing near white out conditions. Several traffic crashes are being reported including a five vehicle crash involving a jack-knifed semi on Free Soil Road near Darr Road. No injuries resulted but the road is closed.
