LUDINGTON — Due to poor visibility from blowing and drifting snow, the City of Ludington Department of Public Works’ snowplows were pulled from the roads from about 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. They have returned to operation and are planning on snowplowing every street in the city at least once today.
The DPW will continue to plow the main streets in the city, such as Ludington Avenue, Lakeshore Drive, Washington and South Madison throughout the day.
City Manager John Shay said despite the DPW’s best efforts, roads will be expected to be snow covered for most of the day and tonight due to blowing and drifting snow.
Stearns Park has been closed to vehicular traffic due to the weather, as several vehicles became stuck already today on Stearns Outer Drive.
City Hall will remain open today with a skeleton staff. All non-essential staff have been sent home today.
