LUDINGTON – The following defendants were sentenced this past week in 79th District Court:
– Paul Jason Gerbers, 39, of 1266 E. Hawley Rd., Custer, was found guilty Dec. 3 of failure to display a valid license. He was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 90 days discretionary jail for one year; and $275 in fines and costs. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Jason John Loxen, 33, of 1517 Betty Ave., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 26 of attempted assaulting/resisting/ obstructing a police officer. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with for two days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; must have a substance evaluation and follow recommendations; one-year tether to Soberlink for daily alcohol testing; subject to random drug tests for two years; no alcohol/drugs; must attend Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) twice a week for two years; and $830 in fines and costs.
– Dustin Allen Collene, 33, of 106 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty Nov. 25 of allowing a person to drive in violation. He was sentenced to $335 in fines and costs.
– Thomas Michael Moore, 19, of 2002 Carlton West Rd., Carleton, Mich., was found guilty Nov. 26 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $1,145 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
– Eric Jo Makowski, 28, of 4498 Whitehall Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 26 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $1,145 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
– Jason Michael Hanson, 28, of 597 Taffy Lane, Muskegon, was found guilty Nov. 26 of operating while impaired by liquor. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served; $1,145 in fines and costs; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); 93 days discretionary jail for one year; and must attend the next session of the Victims Impact Panel. Conviction is reportable to SOS.
Dismissals
– Logan Owen Hardenburgh, 22, of 1774 Independence Ave., Lot 10, Scottville, one count of controlled substance, possession of marijuana was dismissed Dec. 3. “The People confirmed that the defendant possessed valid documentation regarding the possession of medical marijuana,” court records state.
– Eric Nelson Yeager, 30, of 1909 W. Sugargrove Rd., Ludington, one count of malicious destruction of personal property less than $200 was dismissed Dec. 4. “Further prosecution is not in the interests of justice,” courts records state. “All harm has been rectified and the interested parties no longer wish to pursue the matter.”
– Thomas Charles Teague, 59, of 109 E. Foster St., Apt. 2, Ludington, one count of student safety zone – work/loitering violation was dismissed Nov. 25. “Defendant is acquitted on all charge(s) in this case after a trial by judge,” court records state.
