Emergency personnel inspect the truck that rollover on Townline Road in Grant Township.

Two crashes happened Thursday night within 30 minutes. The first was a two vehicle crash at US 10 and Brye Road in Amber Township around 6 p.m. The other was a single vehicle rollover on Towline Road west of Stiles in Victory Township.

The U.S. 10 crash occurred at 6:02 p.m. when a pickup truck, heading east on U.S. 10, driven by a Fountain woman, apparently went through a red traffic light and struck a Ford Focus heading south on Brye Road. Three people were injured as a result, one serious, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, who was present at both scenes. Cole said the female passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered from a head injury. She was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by Aeromed air ambulance.

The crash on Townline Road involved a GMC pickup truck and two victims, neither sustained life-threatening injuries. The truck was travelling west on Townline Road when it apparently lost control and left the south side of the road, Cole said. The truck then rolled over and struck a tree, resulting in the driver being ejected. Both the driver and the passenger were transported by Life EMS ambulance to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital.

Sheriff Cole said sheriff’s office crash investigators were called to the U.S. 10 crash and that injuries were severe.

MCP will have more information when it comes available.

Life EMS and MSCO responded to both scenes. Pere Marquette Township and Ludington fire departments responded to the U.S. 10 scene while Grant Township Fire and Rescue responded to the Townline Road crash.
