SCOTTVILLE — Scottville city employees will receive their first pay increase in five years if the city commission approves tonight. City Manager Amy Williams said the city employees took a 5% pay reduction in 2008. Since that time, the city has frozen wages. She said the city’s finance committee is recommending a 2% pay increase, effective immediately. The wages will again be reviewed during budget planning time.
For all employees the wage adjustment will add an additional $4,791 to the city’s budget, which will be spread across various funds, Williams said, based on where the employees are working.
City commission meets at 5:30 p.m. today at city hall, 105 N. Main St.
