CMU Public Television’s Original Academic Quiz Show, “Quiz Central” Season Nine

CMU Public Television will again air “Quiz Central” featuring high school quiz bowl competitions from around the state.

Teams will compete in four divisions based on school size, for the chance to win bragging rights and scholarships to Central Michigan University.

Season nine of “Quiz Central” airs all-new episodes October through June. In 2013, new episodes air Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.and Saturdays at 5:30 p.m., with a special encore presentation of the week’s shows at 2 p.m.  on Sundays. In 2014, new episodes will air Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m., with encore presentations at 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Each division’s championship team will take home four $2,500 one-year scholarships to Central Michigan University, and four Quiz Bowl seniors will receive textbook scholarships from the CMU Bookstore.

“Quiz Central” Producer Kurt Wilson said, “We’re excited to be able to showcase the best and brightest students from our small towns and our big cities.”
