AMBER TWP. — An 83-year-old Ludington woman has died from injuries sustained during a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 10-31 earlier today. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruz. She apparently turned off of North Dennis Road, heading west onto U.S. 10-31 into the path of a 2006 Land Rover driven by a 31-year-old Scottville man. The Land Rover read-ended the Chevy and pushed the car several feet. The crash occurred at 10:59 a.m.
The 83-year-old woman’s 89-year-old husband and passenger is currently being treated at Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The 31-year-old man was not injured.
Pere Marquette Township and Ludington fire departments, along with Life EMS ambulance, were also on the scene.
Sheriff Kim Cole said names will be released in the morning after family is notified.
