The Mason County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning that it is continuing to search for Clayton Charles Machiela, 21, of Ludington who has been missing since Aug. 9.
“He has not been seen since Aug. 9 and has not had any contact with his family nor has he returned to work,” Chief Deputy Bob Brown said. Brown told MCP that Machiela has a history of going missing without notification.
According to Renee Vanderpool Mahiela, , who posted on the MCP Facebook site earlier this week, Clayton left on Aug. 9 about 10:30 p.m. to go to work at House of Flavors. Because the power went out, around 11 p.m., he went over to a friend’s house until around 1 a.m. He never returned to work.
“We think he took the back roads around Hawley Road area to go back in towards Ludington,” Renee said. “He has never gone this long without contacting me.”
Machiela was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black Armor t-shirt, a blue West Shore Community College (WSCC) hoodie sweatshirt and blueish white tennis shes. He was driving a 2001 Ford Focus. Anyone who has seen him should contact Mason-Oceana 911.
