August 6, 2013

LUDINGTON — Suds on the Shore Craft Beer and Wine Festival will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 1 to 7:00 p.m. at Ludington City Park. The event is a fundraiser for United Way of Mason County.

The cost of tickets is $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. Attendees will receive entrance into the festival, eight tokens each worth a four ounce sample of beer or two ounce sample of wine, souvenir tasting glass and a 2014 “Save the Date” magnet. Tickets can purchased on line at sudsontheshore.com or at Jamesport Brewing Company, Pere Marquette Expeditions and The Mitten Bar. In Manistee, tickets can be purchased at Surroundings.

If individuals are interested in volunteering for the festival they can sign up through www.volunteerwestmichigan.org, Mason County’s centralized location to access volunteer opportunities in our community.

The number of craft beer and wine vendors that will be showcasing their product has grown from 31 to 39 since last year. Bands scheduled to perform include Bad Manners, Even Keel and Kodiak Thunder.

Last year, the festival made a net profit of over $20,000.00, with the proceeds directed to United Way of Mason County, which in turn, were distributed to local programs that are focusing on helping children to succeed, working with families to become financially stable and independent, and improving people’s health.
