Windy today, heat advisory continues

The area remains under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. The National Weather Service reports high temperatures this afternoon may be in the mid-90s. Scattered thunderstorms are likely later this afternoon, beginning around 4 p.m.

Here are the current conditions for the Lake Michigan shoreline and Mason County (including Pentwater) as of 10 a.m. today.

Lake Michigan water temperatures:

Ludington Stearns Park: 76 F

Ludington State Park (Big Sable Point): 75 F

Summit Park: 75 F

Pentwater: 75 F

Afternoon air temperatures:

Ludington: Partly cloudy and windy with temperatures reaching 84 degrees F. Humidity: 69%; wind: southwest at 20 mph.

Scottville: Partly cloudy and windy with temperatures reaching 89 degrees F. Humidity: 56%; wind: southwest at 18 mph.

 Pentwater: Partly cloudy and windy with temperatures reaching 89 degrees F. Humidity: 54%; wind: southwest at 18 mph.
