MCP looking for correspondents

Mason County Press is looking for correspondents! We need reliable people who are trustworthy and consistent who have journalism and/or other writing experience. Candidates should be familiar with local government and be able to report the news objectively and factually. They should also be able to meet deadlines and understand the timeliness of online news. Experience in social networking and photography are bonuses.

Specifically, we are looking for people to cover the following public meetings:

• Mason County Board of Commissioners: monthly meeting (times alternate between morning and evening) and three monthly committee meetings (usually mornings).
• Ludington Area Schools Board of Education monthly meeting (typically third Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m.)
• Mason County Central Schools Board of Education monthly meeting (typically the third Monday of the month, 7 p.m.)

There will also be opportunities for additional writing as well.
