LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced this week in 51st Circuit Court:
– Mark Allan McCallum, 53, 5839 Barnhart, Ludington, c/o Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSCO), was found guilty May 14 of embezzlement agent $20,000 or more; embezzlement agent $1,000-$20,000; and third-offense habitual offender. He was sentenced June 4 to six to 20 years with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for the first count and a minimum of three years, six months to 10 years with the MDOC and given credit for 478 days served in jail. He was also sentenced to $12,653 in fines, costs and restitution for Count I and $198 in fines and costs for Count II. The two prison sentences concurrent. Charges of second-degree home invasion, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle and fourth-offense habitual offender were dismissed per a plea agreement.
– Larry Casarez Ramirez, 57, of 2352 S. Meyers Rd., and 207 S. Washington, Apt. 3, Ludington, was found guilty April 17 of second-offense controlled substance delivery, less than 50 grams. He was sentenced June 4 to three to 40 years with the MDOC and given credit for 172 days served in jail. He was also ordered to pay fines, costs and restitution totaling $2,301. Charges of absconding/forfeiting bond and fourth-offense habitual offender were dismissed per a plea agreement. Ramirez was also found guilty July 20, 2010 of third-offense operating under the influence of liquor (OUIL) and probation violation. A charge of assaulting/resisting/ obstructing a police officer was dismissed. He sentenced in that case June 4 to 3-10 years with the MDOC and given credit for 536 days served in jail. His sentence runs concurrent with the previous case. His probation was revoked. He was also ordered to pay $888 in fines and costs, and his conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
– Robert Crane Bacon, 67, of 2917 E. US-10, Custer was found guilty April 17 of embezzlement, $5,000. He was sentenced June 4 to one year in jail with credit for one year served; fines, costs and restitution totaling $110,001.11; and three years probation. One count of embezzlement by a public officer over $50 was dismissed per a plea agreement.
– Karen Ann Wheatley, 27, 3128 N. Pere Marquette, Ludington, was found guilty April 9 of third-offense OUIL. She was sentenced June 4 to 270 days in jail with credit for 180 days served; serve seven months up front and balance to be served at the court’s discretion; 60 days of community service; may serve last 30 days of jail in an inpatient treatment program; driver’s license revoked; fines and costs totaling 41,098; and 18 months probation. One count of allowing a person to operate with a suspended license was dismissed per a plea agreement.
– Mark Edward Dekle, 25, of 8327 W. Hollyhock Ave., Baldwin, pleaded no contest April 16to assaulting/resisting/ obstructing a police officer and assault and battery. He was sentenced June 4 to concurrent jail sentences of one year and 93 days with credit for 23 days served and work release permitted if it meets MCSO guidelines. He must serve five months up front with the balance to be served at the court’s discretion. He was also sentenced to 18 months probation and $598 in fines and costs. One count of assaulting/resisting/ obstructing a police officer was dismissed per a plea agreement.
– Skip Roy-Ernest Lange, 18, of 502 E. Second St., Ludington, pleaded no contest to operating while impaired (OWI) causing an incapacitating injury. He was sentenced June 4 to 330 days in jail with credit for one day served; must serve six months up front with the balance to be served at the court’s discretion; $1,448 in fines and costs; restitution is reserved; and 24 months probation. Conviction is reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
