Initially, the center reported that just under $20,000 was raised. Since that time more funds, pledges and matches have come, Executive Director Tracey Chapman said.

“What a blessing this has been,” Chapman said. The center’s goal was to raise $40,000 which would pay off the remaining debt on its Tinkham Avenue building.

The center has scheduled one of its two annual fund raisers, the Walk for Life, for Sunday, May 19. The two-mile walk through downtown Ludington will raise awareness about the ministry at will also raise funds for operating expenses. It begins at 1 p.m. at Waterfront Park.
